Dr. Steve Ritter

Founder and Chief Scientist
As Founder and Chief Scientist at Carnegie Learning, Dr. Ritter has been developing, analyzing, and evaluating educational technology for over 20 years. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University and was instrumental in the development and evaluation of Cognitive Tutor for mathematics. He is the author of numerous papers on the design, architecture, and evaluation of Intelligent Tutoring Systems and other advanced educational technology. He currently leads the research team at Carnegie Learning, focusing on improving the educational effectiveness of its products and services.

Tarin Barrow

Director of Professional Learning
Tarin joined the Carnegie Learning Professional Learning team in 2019. Prior to joining Carnegie Learning, she was the Secondary Mathematics Coordinator for a school district in El Paso, Texas, overseeing mathematics instruction 6 through 12. She has a degree in mathematics with a minor in physics. Over the course of 10 years in the classroom, she taught 8th grade math through Pre-Calculus at Title 1 schools serving communities with large EL populations.
